Driven by their shared passion, a group of enthusiasts established the Southern Alberta Model Railway Club (SAMRC) in 1972, initially concentrating their efforts on a single HO scale layout. The club's evolution and the diverse interests of its growing membership led to the addition of a second, portable N scale layout, perfectly suited for exhibitions. A pivotal moment arrived in 2016 with a significant building expansion, enabling the club to not only enlarge both the HO and N scale layouts but also to develop a new layout showcasing a generous donation of G scale equipment.
Beyond the club's engaging public exhibitions, the enthusiasm of SAMRC members extends into their personal spaces, with many actively involved in building or planning their own individual model railway layouts.

In 2019, the club layouts were featured on JC's Rip Track, a YouTube channel that focuses on painting and weathering. Check out John's channel here: JC's Riptrack - YouTube
